Winner of the 2017 Creative Loafing Best Soul & Jazz vocalist award, Brenda Nicole Moorer is making a name for herself one city at a time. The Atlanta- bred songstress has already graced stages alongside some jazz heavy hitters like Christian McBride, Incognito, Booker T Jones, Roy Ayers, and Brandon Williams. Headlining the next generation stage at the 2017 Atlanta Jazz Festival opened up doors for Brenda to access larger stages, performing at notable venues like the Blue Note in New York, Rockwood Music Hall, and City Winery. Brenda’s music has garnered attention from tastemaker Gilles Peterson, DJ Jamal Ahmad, Ebony Magazine, AfroElle, Soulbounce, Singersroom, Afropunk, and Soultracks. Her latest album, Brand New Heart, landed her a licensing deal with Japan’s P-Vine Records.
