Performing recent songs and premiering the music video for the new single "Billie Ray"
To celebrate the release of the single “Billie Ray,” Andy Ditzler will play a short set of recent songs and premiere the music video for “Billie Ray” at Buteco on February 18.The set begins at 8:00 pm sharp.
Buteco is an appropriate venue for this debut – owner Rafael Pereira (Janelle Monae, Sonny Emory) played percussion on “Billie Ray,” which also features appearances by Atlanta music luminaries Adron, Robby Handley, Eliot Eidelman, Colin Bragg, Ben Price, and others. Tracks for “Billie Ray” were recorded in Atlanta and in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The music video, directed by Ditzler, was shot in Brighton, UK, Prague, Poland, Atlanta and numerous other locales.
Andy Ditzler’s songwriting combines catchy melodies, complex harmonies, and rhythmic propulsion, influenced by Brazilian Tropicália’s spirit of lyrical experimentation and radical beauty; 70s AM/FM radio; avant-gardes and pop of all eras; the tradition of collective shape note singing; and many other things.
